See, it's been a month since my last post and I really wanted to check in so that when I look back on May it won't be completely blank.
May was not without events, both good and bad.
Quite good: I spent a weekend at the seaside and relaxed a bit.
Bad: something very unpleasant happened on my way back.
Good: although it has taken me a month, I managed to repair the damage caused by awful people and a few seconds of not paying attention.
Very bad: Half's company is seriously downsizing and he's been given a three weeks' notice. By this time next month he'll be out of a job and out of a paycheck. Which is totally bad timing considering I also decided to resign. His department was dissolved and the firing started about a half a year ago. They fired about 50 people during this time and Half was among the last (three) ones to go. Here's hoping for better times.
Good: May was my last month of full time teaching. I announced the company at the end of April that I'm planning on leaving once I finish all of my commitments (meaning all my classes). I'll be teaching in June as well as during the first week of July but only part time. Despite the financial drawbacks, I'm really glad I made the decision to leave. The mental strain that this past 6 months have put on me is enormous and I've recently found out that they were planning on giving me more classes once the current ones were done. Which basically would have meant going full speed ahead for another 6 months at least. And I'm soooo tired.
Bad: One of my most stable and pleasant tutoring gigs is canceled indeterminately due to some personal problems on the part of the tutoree. I'll miss her, I hope she's not lost for good.
Good: I got a little teeny tiny bonus.
Bad: I cannot spend it on maintenance/food.
Good: I chose to spend it on clothes.
Very bad: I miss my friends terribly and I feel very lonely right now.
Good: Seaside pictures if you scroll.
However, it's always a good idea to start with the lollipop.

Summer plans galore to follow ...
